Which R&D Results make it to Market? Technologies for Low Energy Buildings in Theory versus Reality
Many objectively useful technologies, solutions and innovations are available for low energy houses. But it is frustrating how many solutions never make it into reality. We take a look at the market for low energy buildings in Austria, Gemany and Switzerland and check which products and solutions are used there. Then we try to find the reasons why some were successful and other solutions are not. What does this mean for a researcher, what can he/she do? How to build an early opinion, if a project has a chance or will never make it?Finally, we try to work out an analysis for one or two technologies in a playful discussion.
